This page covers listener requests for live radio shows and station events. For the product overview, see the DJ Request app overview.
Song Requests for Radio Stations
One listener request link for your live show. One QR code for your next station event.
Give listeners a simple way to request a track and send a dedication while you stay focused on the microphone. DJ Request collects submissions in a host-controlled queue beside your existing radio setup—not in place of it.
Listeners use their browser. New accounts can try free requests for 30 days; ongoing free listener requests require an eligible plan.
A listener request system for live radio shows
Presenters at internet, community, college, or broadcast stations can use a separate request page during a live programme. Share a normal website link with remote listeners; save the QR code for people who can see a screen or sign. You do not need to build a request form or publish your personal phone number.
- 1
Configure your show
Sign in, check the session name and request settings, and enable requests. For no-charge listener participation, use the free trial or set a $0 request price on an eligible plan.
- 2
Share the direct link
Add a link to your session's guest page on the station website, show page, or social posts. Share the guest request link, not your private dashboard URL.
- 3
Review the submissions
Open the DJ dashboard—the app's host controls—to read song choices and optional listener notes. Accept or decline based on the programme, timing, and your available music.
- 4
Choose and play the music
Use your normal station equipment and music sources for playback. DJ Request does not send tracks into your playout system or automatically put a listener's choice on air.
Song choices, dedications, and presenter control
A link for remote listeners
Listeners open the request page on a phone or computer, search for a song, and submit it without a native app download. A QR code is optional, not a requirement.
Notes alongside the request
The optional name and note fields let a listener add a dedication or context. Review the message yourself before deciding whether to read it on air.
The presenter decides
A submission is a suggestion, not a promise. Keep the final say on song selection, suitability, timing, and whether a dedication belongs in the show.
An active-show queue
The dashboard's Requests tab shows the most recent six hours of activity. Use it during a live programme, not as a permanent inbox or an advance-show scheduling tool.
QR song requests for station events
Bring the same request workflow to the audience in person. At a station party, promotional appearance, or community event, a QR code on a poster or screen opens the guest page directly. Keep the direct link available for attendees who cannot scan.
Signs people can actually scan
Use the existing QR poster tools and place the code where attendees can stop and read it. Check the final sign opens the intended session before sharing it.
A host-led event workflow
Review requests while the event is running and choose songs using your existing music setup. Check plan eligibility and request availability before each appearance.
Choose a plan for free listener participation
For a radio request show, start with free listener submissions where eligible. Standard has no subscription charge, but it is not an ongoing free-listener-request plan. During the 30-day trial for new accounts, every guest request is free. After the trial, Standard needs Stripe payouts to be ready before requests can be switched on. Pro Pass and Max Pass can use a $0 request price; paid requests always need Stripe payouts to be ready.
Existing plans, no special radio package
Plan names, prices, and features below use the same data as the live pricing page. DJ Request does not add a radio-specific subscription or change your station's broadcasting setup.

Keep your existing broadcast and music setup
DJ Request does not broadcast or stream audio, supply music or music licensing, or integrate with radio automation. It does not replace your station's playout software, music library, or licensing arrangements. There is no automatic airplay or guaranteed place in the programme, and this is not a 24/7 AutoDJ service.
Search results help listeners identify a track; they do not add that track to your station library. Keep reviewing songs and messages according to your own programme rules. The existing interface still uses terms such as DJ, guest, and event.
Radio station song request FAQ
- How can a radio station collect listener song requests?
- Configure a DJ Request session for your live show, enable requests, and share its direct link on your station website or social channels. Listeners search for a song in their browser and can add a name or dedication. The presenter reviews requests in the DJ dashboard and chooses what fits the programme.
- Do listeners need an app or a QR code to request a song?
- No app download is required. Remote listeners can open the direct request link without scanning anything. QR codes are another way to open that same page, especially on signage at station events and promotional appearances.
- Does DJ Request play or broadcast the requested music?
- No. DJ Request is a request-management tool, not a radio player or streaming service. Your presenter selects and plays music using the station's existing equipment and licensed music sources. Submitting or accepting a request does not guarantee airplay.
- Can listeners submit free requests?
- Yes, when the account and session are eligible. All requests are free during the 30-day new-account trial. Afterward, Pro Pass and Max Pass allow a $0 request price; Standard requires paid requests and ready Stripe payouts. Check the current pricing page before choosing a plan for your show.
- Does DJ Request connect to radio automation or AutoDJ software?
- No radio-automation integration is provided. A presenter manages the live queue separately from the station's playout system. It is not an automated 24/7 playlist, scheduling service, or replacement for broadcast software.
- How long do requests stay in the active dashboard queue?
- The Requests tab currently displays activity from the most recent six hours. Plan to review requests during your live show rather than treating this view as an indefinite inbox for advance submissions or future programmes.
- Can the same workflow be used for station events?
- Yes. Share the session link or display its QR code at a station party, community appearance, or live promotional event. Attendees submit from their phones and the host decides which requests suit the event. Free-request availability still depends on the account's trial or plan.
