A wedding is the one event where the DJ answers to a couple, a planner, and two hundred guests at once. Requests shouted over the booth get lost, and paper slips cannot be checked against a do-not-play list. A QR request page moves the conversation to the guest's phone and gives you a written record you can approve on your own schedule.

- Create your event, set the display name the couple will recognize, and decide whether requests are free or paid for this reception.
- Print or send the QR poster to the planner so it can sit on table cards, the bar, or a sign at the DJ booth.

Cocktail hour and dinner
- Requests start arriving with song, artist, and a guest note (up to 500 characters). Accept the ones that fit dinner and cocktails; decline the rest with a short message.
- If paid requests are on, Stripe authorizes the card at submission and only captures when you accept, so declining costs the guest nothing.

Open dancing
- Watch the queue on your phone or laptop. Boosted requests sort to the top so you can see what the crowd wants most without leaving the booth.
- Approve Photo Wall submissions between transitions or turn on auto-approve for a trusted crowd.

After the last song
- Review request counts, acceptance rate, and any paid-request totals in the analytics tab.
- Optionally create a shared album so the couple can download the approved photos with an access code (albums stay available for 90 days).

Free or paid requests at a wedding

Most wedding DJs either keep requests free so every guest can join in, or use a modest price as a filter for priority requests during open dancing. The plan you are on decides which options are available.

Who pays, and what it costs

The Standard subscription is free. On Standard, guest song requests are paid (minimum $1). On Pro Pass and Max Pass, you can set requests to free or paid per event.
During the 30-day trial for new accounts, every guest request is free. After the trial, Standard needs Stripe payouts to be ready before requests can be switched on. Pro Pass and Max Pass can use a $0 request price; paid requests always need Stripe payouts to be ready.
Guest payments are authorized when the request is submitted and captured only when the DJ accepts. Declining releases the hold.
DJ Request charges a 15% app fee on the accepted base request amount. Tips and boosts have no DJ Request app fee. Stripe processing fees and payout timing are separate.
Guests can add an optional boost of $2, $5, $10, $20 at checkout to move their request up the DJ's queue. Boosts are optional and never required to submit.
