How a DJ Request System Works (Step by Step)

  1. 1You create an event in the app and get a unique link and QR code. You can set a price per request (e.g. $5–$20) or leave requests free.
  2. 2Guests open the link or scan the QR and search for a song. They submit a request; if you use paid requests, they authorize payment (often charged only when you accept).
  3. 3Requests appear in your dashboard in one queue. You accept or reject each one. Only accepted requests get played (and paid, if applicable).
  4. 4If you use paid requests, Stripe captures the authorized payment when you accept. Processing fees and payout timing follow the connected Stripe account's terms and schedule.

Main Parts of a DJ Request System

Entry: QR or Link

One way for guests to reach your request page. No app download; they use their browser.

Queue

All requests in one list. You see order, song, and guest; you accept or reject.

Payments (Optional)

Set a price per request. Payment is usually captured only when you accept, so you never charge for songs you won’t play.

Extras

Some systems add AI suggestions, photo walls, or analytics. You choose what you use.

Why Use a Request System?

  • One place for every request—no lost napkins, mixed texts, or shouting.
  • You stay in control: accept or reject so the set stays on vibe.
  • Optional paid requests = extra revenue and fewer joke requests.
